Abstract
Pharmacomechanical thrombolysis can aid in the management of an acute extensive deep vein thrombosis. Tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) dose varies by catheter, with the goal of avoiding bleeding by using as least amount of tPA possible. We present a case of an extensive deep vein thrombosis treated with back-to-back pharmacomechanical thrombolysis without any bleeding complications using 2 different catheter systems and a larger dose (30 mg) of tPA.
