Depriving cancer cells of serine provokes mitochondrial perturbations that induce cytosolic mitochondrial DNA accumulation and subsequent activation of cGAS-STING signaling, stimulating tumor-targeting immune responses that can be enhanced with PD-1 targeted therapy.
